Town of Kentville Public Hearing
The public hearing focused on a proposed rezoning application for 172 Main Street, aiming to change the property's designation from an R2 (one and two unit residential) zone to an R3 (medium density residential) zone. The Director of Planning provided an overview of the application and policy considerations, noting the property is underutilized and could support increased density. The applicant's representative detailed potential development scenarios, emphasizing that these were density yield illustrations rather than binding proposals, and discussed how future site plan approvals would manage impacts on neighbors through strict criteria. Public comments were invited, during which residents expressed concerns regarding existing infrastructure issues in the area.
